Chef Matt Dean Pettit
Preaching sustainability, and the importance of being part of the solution — not the problem.
From his first job as a busboy at the age of 13, to line cook at 14, Matt’s passion for food started early. After 20 years of experience in hospitality, Matt decided to pursue his own venture in 2011 and soon after MDP founded Rock Lobster Food Co. After tremendous success, The Rock Lobster brand switched their focus to grocery retail, proudly highlighting a Canadian and sustainable product line operating under the name of Matty’s Seafood Co.
Chef MDP’s other projects include his award winning Best-Selling cookbook, The Great Lobster Cook Book published by Appetite by Random House and co-starring in the Food Network Canada TV Show, Super Snack Bros. He also makes regular guest appearances, lending his love of food and sports on Global TV, CTV, CBC television, The Social CTV and Your Morning Canada!
Matt has just completed his second cookbook to be published by Appetite by Random House titled The Great Shellfish Cookbook and is currently filming a new Sports / Travel & Food show called “TimeOut with MDP”
